New West Public Affairs announces leadership changes; Monte Solberg to assume role of CEO

Matt Solberg, Michael Solberg, and Keith McLaughlin join Monte as Partners in the growing firm

New West Public Affairs, a market-leading government relations firm, today announced leadership changes that will see Monte Solberg assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. The ownership group of New West will also expand to include Matt Solberg, Michael Solberg, and Keith McLaughlin as Partners in the growing company.

For the last eight years, Monte Solberg – a long-time MP and former federal cabinet minister – has led New West Public Affairs in providing expert advice to a range of clients in Canada including some of the country’s largest companies and most prominent advocacy organizations. Matt Solberg started his political career in 2012, most recently serving as Director of Communications for Alberta Premier Jason Kenney’s 2019 campaign. Michael Solberg has worked in government relations since 2016, previously serving as Stakeholder Relations Advisor to the federal minister of health in Ottawa. Keith McLaughlin joined New West in 2019 after serving as Chief of Staff to several ministers in the former Rachel Notley government in Alberta.
