Matt Solberg joined New West Public Affairs in December 2017 and became a partner in October 2021. Matt has spent a decade working in and around Alberta politics. He has advised leaders, premiers, MLAs and staff.
Matt served as Campaign Chair for the Wildrose Party in the 2015 general election. In the spring of 2017, Matt worked with representatives from the Wildrose and PC Parties to write the Agreement in Principle that led to the creation of the United Conservative Party of Alberta. He served as the party’s Director of Communications and Spokesperson in the 2019 general election. Most recently, Matt served in the transition team of Premier Danielle Smith as Executive Director of Government Caucus.
While at New West, Matt has leveraged relationships with government, opposition, and the media to advance client priorities on a range of issues touching every industry with a focus on health care, environment, energy, and labour issues.
Matt lives in Edmonton with his wife Rachel, two sons, Jack and George, and golden retriever, Rosie.
