Michael Solberg provides government relations and strategic communications counsel to clients across many sectors including healthcare, tech, arts and culture, energy and infrastructure.
Prior to joining New West, Michael worked for a national public affairs and strategic communications firm advising clients in virtually every sector of the economy. He also worked in a leadership role for an international staffing and management consultancy with a special focus on business development. He built his expertise in government relations and stakeholder engagement during his time in Ottawa, where he served as Stakeholder Relations Advisor to the federal Minister of Health on a number of important pan-Canadian policy issues.
Throughout his career, Michael has been involved in numerous political campaigns at all levels of government across the country.
Michael also served on the Board of Directors for peer-to-peer mental health support group SupportWorks and remains an active volunteer with the Economic Club of Canada.
Born and raised in Southern Alberta, Michael has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Lethbridge, and holds a post-graduate Professional Certificate in Public Relations from Mount Royal University.
